Despite what society may tell us – success is not measured by how many times we “win”. In fact, I would even argue the opposite. I believe the more times we “lose” the more we appreciate how hard we worked for the victories. True success comes in the moments where we get past the moments we never thought we could. Success isn’t making millions of dollars or parking the fanciest cars in the driveway of the biggest house. Success is measured by the journey you took to get you where YOU wanted to go – regardless of how many tries it took you to get there.
Life isn’t about comparing yourself to others. It’s not about being the biggest, fastest or strongest. It’s about comparing yourself to yester-YOU. It’s about pushing yourself harder than you did yesterday. It’s about seizing the moment you are in and investing the entirety of your heart and soul into EVERYTHING you do.
Life isn’t about how many times we fall but rather how many times we get back up and keep fighting. When it comes down to it, you either care enough to get back up and fight or you don’t. You either want it bad enough or you don’t. It either means enough to you or it doesn’t. It’s that simple. Success is what you say it is. You are the only one who controls your path to get you where you want to go. Set your sights on your wildest dreams and fight for it. Every second of every day. It won’t be easy and it won’t be free – but nothing great ever is.
